Meet the Administration Department


Al Reimche
President

Al Reimche was born in Alberta and has lived across Canada from British Columbia to Newfoundland. He met his wife Beth (Blabey) when both were attending Walla Walla College in the early 70’s. After teaching church school in Newfoundland, running a small construction/remodeling business, traveling across western Canada for the Adventist Book Center, he began his pastoral career in Creston in Southeastern British Columbia. In 1985 he became the Ministerial/Family Life Director for the Alberta Conference and stayed there for 8 years. Following that he and his family spent 5 years serving as the pastor of the Pendleton, OR district and then in 1998 became the Ministerial Director here in Oregon. 2001 Al began serving as the Vice President for Administration.

Al and his wife Beth have been married for 35 years and have two great kids (and great kids-in-law.) Jonathan and his wife Angela live in Calgary and Jayne and her husband Jason live in Portland.

Along with the joys of working in the Oregon Conference Al also enjoys wildlife photography, summer motorcycle trips and exploring back roads in Oregon/Washington.



Erin Brunese
Executive Assistant-Administration

Erin was born in Hawaii and has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1976. She has an older brother and parents who live in Vancouver. She's been a member at Sunnyside Church since 1992. In her spare time, she enjoys quality retail therapy.

Jon Corder
VP Finance, Oregon Conference

Jon has served in the Upper Columbia Conference as Under-Treasurer as well as VP of Finance. Before that he served at Upper Columbia Academy, and Pacific Union College.

His wife, Cheri, serves as director for Oregon Conference Family Ministries. They have two adult children.

Dave Allen
VP Administration, Oregon Conference

Dave served as the Senior Pastor at Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church in Portland before accepting the position at the Oregon Conference headquarters. Prior to his ministry with Sunnyside, Dave served as President of Helderberg College, an Adventist institution in Somerset West, South Africa. Before his academic leadership, Dave served as President of the Cape Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for three years, and held a number of leadership roles within that conference.

John F. Gatchet
VP of Education

John F. Gatchet grew up in western Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. He became a Seventh-day Adventist in 1962 after attending evangelistic meetings in Sequim, Washington. John decided to attend Walla Walla College to obtain a Christian education. He graduated in 1967 from WWC with a major in History and minors in Religion and Sociology. There he met Eloise Mittleider and they were married in 1966.
John has a Masters of Education in Administration from Walla Walla College and took further post-graduate work at Portland State University for certification in Guidance and Counseling. He worked 33 years in boarding schools as a Dean of Men, Registrar, Librarian, Guidance Director, Vice Principal and Principal.  He has taught Bible, Speech, Government, World History, U.S. History, and English as a Second Language.

Before coming to the Oregon Conference John served as Vice President for Education in the Georgia Cumberland Conference from 2001 until 2003. In 2003, he accepted the position of VP for Education in the Oregon Conference.

John is an avid birder and has written articles for various publications including one for the American Birding Association. He enjoys backpacking, hiking, photography and his grandchildren.
